Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track, AI

The University of Washington Information School seeks an Assistant Professor in artificial intelligence, broadly defined, to advance fundamental or applied knowledge in AI, including natural language processing and machine learning, computational social science, human-AI collaboration and societal impacts of AI, and AI safety, governance, policy and cybersecurity. The faculty member conducts research, teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and contributes to the school's strategic areas of climate change, health and wellness, healthy information environments and responsibility in AI.

The nine-month appointment has a three-year renewable term starting 1 September 2027, with a base salary of $13,000-$14,935 per month. Priority goes to applications received by 10 November 2026, and applications submitted by 15 November 2026 receive full consideration.
