PhD position in Neurosurgery, with a Focus on Malignant Brain Tumours

A four-year doctoral position in Medical Science - Neurosurgery at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University, within the project "Multimodal treatment of malignant brain tumours". The project studies local treatment of malignant brain tumours and how local neurosurgical strategies affect tumour cells and the tumour immune microenvironment, including local drug delivery and chemotherapy, radiotherapy and experimental laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT).

Effects are studied in cell-based systems, orthotopic brain tumour models and, where relevant, human brain tumour and biobank material, with a direct translational link to clinical neurosurgery. Start 1 February 2027 (reference PA2026/3037).
