About

PhD research fellowship at the Department of Science and Industry Systems, USN campus Kongsberg, in SFI CELECT, the Research Council of Norway-funded Centre for Effective Engineering and Learning in Complex Systems, which links leading Norwegian industrial companies and 30 PhD candidates at USN, NTNU and the University of Agder; the fellow also joins the Industrial Research School in Complex Systems (INRESCOS). The doctoral project will develop AI-supported design methods and tools for early validation of complex, data-intensive integrated systems, whose huge design spaces and emergent behaviour make early design decisions hard.

The workplace is shared between campus Kongsberg and CELECT partner companies (3 to 30 months on company premises). Main supervisor: Professor Kristin Falk. Start May 2027 (August 2027 at the latest); salary NOK 550,800 (code 1017).

Requirements

Master's degree (120 ECTS) in systems engineering, systems architecture, mechanical, electrical, marine or software engineering, cybernetics, mechatronics, computer science or similar.
