About
The Connectome Lab of Prof. Martijn van den Heuvel at the Center for Neurogenomics and Cognitive Research (CNCR), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, seeks a postdoc to study how variation in brain anatomy and connectivity underlies the diversity of the human brain and how it relates to principles of brain evolution. The project combines large human structural MRI, diffusion MRI and resting-state fMRI datasets with comparative data across species to identify conserved, individually variable and evolutionarily expanded features of brain organisation, using cortical reconstruction, tractography, functional connectivity and connectome analysis.
Applications close on 15 December 2026.
Requirements
PhD in neuroscience, neuroimaging, computational neuroscience, biomedical engineering, physics, computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics or a related quantitative discipline; experience with AI/LLM methods is particularly welcome.
