About

Postdoctoral position in the QuantERA 2025 QUASIMODO project at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. The work develops the theory of topological spin and spin squeezing using synthetic dimensions in multicomponent ultra-cold atomic systems, combining analytical and numerical modelling of quantum gases and ultra-cold atoms in optical lattices. The fixed-term contract runs for 24 months, full time, at approximately PLN 11,700 gross per month.

Applications comprise a CV, motivation letter, publication list, contacts for two referees and a signed data-processing consent, sent to rekrutacja@ifpan.edu.pl with the job ID in the subject.

Requirements

PhD in physics (or thesis submitted) obtained no earlier than 12 years before 1 January 2026 under NCN rules; theoretical background preferably in ultra-cold atoms and quantum optics shown by publications; analytical and numerical modelling experience; teamwork and independent work; fluent English.
