Principal Scientist (12 months temporary) / Sr Scientist (7 months temporary)

Two temporary positions for statisticians or data scientists at Amgen deCODE genetics in Reykjavík, one as Principal Scientist for about 12 months and one as Senior Scientist for about 7 months. The scientists work with large-scale human genetic and proteomic datasets in ongoing research projects aimed at understanding human traits and disease: they apply statistical methods to analyse these datasets, use and develop analysis workflows in R and/or Python, interpret the results and communicate them to collaborators, and contribute to a range of scientific projects with scientists across the organisation.

A background in statistics, data science, bioinformatics or a related quantitative field; an MSc or PhD in a relevant field is an advantage. Experience with R and/or Python; experience working in Linux is preferred and experience with genomic or proteomic data is an advantage; ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary research environment.
