Tomoe Ishikawa’s Brain-Body Interaction RIKEN ECL Research Team studies neural and immune communication between the brain and peripheral organs, including how social behavior changes responses to pathogens in mice. One or two researchers will design and conduct experiments and develop hypotheses. The team launches in December 2026; employment starts on or after 1 April 2027, negotiable. Work is on site at RIKEN’s Wako campus. Applications remain open until the positions are filled.

Requirements
PhD in neuroscience, biology, veterinary medicine, medicine or a related field. Relevant behavioral, circuit, molecular or immunological experimental experience and English communication. Postdoctoral appointments generally require no more than five years since the PhD; research-scientist appointments require more than five years. Two reference letters are required.
