About
A senior postdoctoral research associate joins Professor Alexander Forse's group in the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, where research centres on new materials for climate change mitigation. The project, part of an ERC Starting Grant funded by UKRI, seeks to understand and improve supercapacitor devices for energy storage, using solid-state NMR to gain structural insight. The postholder leads and manages the group's NMR facility, independently develops new magnetic resonance approaches for studying climate-mitigation materials, leads student training in magnetic resonance, co-supervises PhD students and supports research proposal development, with access to 400 and 600 MHz Bruker NMR spectrometers, potentiostats for electrochemistry, gas sorption instruments and diffraction resources.
The post is funded for 22 months in the first instance, with a salary range of £43,099-£57,666.
Requirements
A PhD in solid-state NMR spectroscopy, or about to obtain one, and at least three years of postdoctoral experience (or the industry equivalent) in NMR spectroscopy. The cover letter should explain how the applicant's experience matches the role's responsibilities; applications also include a CV and publication list.
