Abstract

Snow, glaciers, ice sheets, sea ice and frozen ground respond strongly to climate and also influence it through properties such as their high reflectivity. This seminar examines those two-way interactions, the potential for ice and snow loss to amplify warming, and the evidence behind concerns about abrupt or irreversible changes in the cryosphere.
