This conference connects Latin American researchers using computation to investigate biological questions. Its programme combines invited lectures, contributed research, tutorials and networking across biomedical omics, microbial communities, comparative and population genomics, molecular sequences and structures, systems biology and networks. It brings together biology, computing, mathematics, statistics and medicine, while introducing scientists new to bioinformatics to tools for analysing biological data. Published keynotes examine AI integration of genomic and phenotypic data for antimicrobial resistance, diagnostics and biomarkers; inclusive genomic studies and biobanks addressing Latin American ancestry and health; network models of non-coding RNA and host-pathogen interactions for drug repurposing and precision medicine; and AI that moves from environmental sensing toward ecological explanation and conservation decisions. Keynote schedule, in Peru Time (PET, UTC−05:00): 11 November, 09:00–10:00 José Arturo Molina Mora (University of Costa Rica) and 16:30–17:30 Andrés Moreno-Estrada (Cinvestav); 12 November, 09:00–10:00 Deisy Morselli Gysi (Federal University of Paraná) and 16:30–17:30 Layla Hirsh Martinez (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú); 13 November, 11:00–12:00 Tanya Berger-Wolf (Ohio State University). These are the published keynote sessions; consult the organizer for other sessions. Attend in person at the Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología auditorium, Jr. Medrano Silva 165, Barranco, Lima, Peru, or virtually through the conference platform. The auditorium seats 320. Public registration accepts members and nonmembers. Current individual fees are USD 105–255 in person or USD 40–90 virtually, depending on career category and membership. Tutorials cost an additional USD 25 for members or USD 35 for nonmembers; the closing party costs USD 20. In-person fees include breaks and lunch. Both formats include virtual-platform and recorded-session access. Oral presenters are normally expected in person; remote presentation requires an approved waiver for qualifying barriers.

Gut microbiome research needs causal explanations of microbial effects on health, beyond descriptive associations. This conference examines poorly understood microbial genes and the model organisms, genetic tools and collaborative approaches needed to assign their functions. Sessions cover data-driven discovery, genetic perturbation, multi-omics, cellular organisation, imaging protein machines, ecological interactions with hosts and phages, and connections to other microbiomes. The aim is to connect molecular mechanisms with microbiome engineering and health applications. The programme uses Europe/Berlin time (CET, UTC+1): opening remarks on 8 December at 13:00, first talk at 13:15; sessions on 9 and 10 December start at 09:00. The final roundtable ends at 19:30 on 10 December. On-site and virtual attendance are offered. On-site fees are EUR 760 for academia, EUR 660 for PhD students and EUR 960 for industry; virtual fees are EUR 240, EUR 190 and EUR 290 respectively. On-site registration closes 27 October; virtual registration closes 1 December. An EMBL registration account and payment are required.

This four-day scientific symposium celebrates Peer Bork’s research legacy and examines future directions in predictive biology. Invited presentations, selected short talks and posters connect protein biology, molecular evolution, systems biology, the human microbiome and planetary biology. The programme links earlier achievements with emerging research questions across these fields, bringing together an international community for scientific discussion and collaboration. The meeting is open to researchers across the disciplines represented in Bork’s work.

The twenty-third BioMalPar conference connects malaria parasite biology with human-host responses, mosquito vectors and the environmental and public-health conditions that shape transmission. Scientific sessions examine parasite development within hosts, immune evasion and host-pathogen interactions, epidemiology, drug resistance and evolutionary change. Vector biology and mosquito-parasite dynamics are considered alongside systems biology, omics and emerging experimental technologies. The meeting provides a cross-disciplinary setting for researchers at different career stages to relate molecular discoveries to the continuing challenges of malaria control.

The eighth edition of this biennial symposium connects fundamental microbiology with technologies that enable new experimental questions. Its scientific scope includes bacterial physiology, microbial communities and microbiomes, interactions with hosts and phages, and bacterial behaviour in natural environments. Systems-level methods and single-cell approaches are considered together, allowing researchers developing new technologies to engage with biological questions and microbiologists to evaluate new ways of testing hypotheses. The programme combines invited and selected contributions with discussions across experimental, computational and ecological perspectives.

ISMB/ECCB brings computational biology and bioinformatics together with molecular biology, computer science, mathematics and statistics. The 2027 meeting combines the 35th ISMB and 26th ECCB at Bella Center Copenhagen and online. Research tracks cover algorithm and statistical development, machine learning, molecular sequence and structure, regulatory genomics, systems biology and biological networks. Training workshops, tutorials, scientific talks and poster sessions connect methods with biological applications. Virtual participants can access streamed sessions, live questions and discussion, and an on-demand presentation repository. The full-paper proceedings deadline is 14 January 2027 at 23:59 Anywhere on Earth; abstract submissions for talks and posters close on 8 April, and late-breaking posters on 6 May, also at 23:59 AoE. Proceedings presentations normally take place in person; exceptions need advance approval. Tutorial proposals close on 17 December 2026. Virtual and group registration open on 1 April 2027. Presenter registration and confirmation are due on 10 June. File uploads close on 8 July at 23:59 AoE. Tutorial registration closes on 8 July at 17:59 CEST, subject to availability.
