While computational neuroscience is flourishing in many regions globally, it is still in its infancy in the Arab world. There is a large divide between the quantitative and biological sciences in virtually all academic institutions in the Arab region, coupled with limited funding, and a lack of access to computational neuroscience expertise. This results in poor computational neuroscience research output in the region relative to the other sciences.
