In Physics and Astronomy

Assess the scientific opportunities of the Electron-Ion Collider as detector construction, software and computing move toward implementation. The conference examines nucleon and nuclear structure in quantum chromodynamics, including the origins of proton spin and correlations between spin and momentum. Jet physics and small-x dynamics connect theoretical predictions with detector technology and analysis requirements. The meeting brings the international EIC community together to discuss recent results, coordinate contributions and shape future experimental and theoretical work. 15 February 20

MKI X-Ray Detector Lab Postdoctoral Associate

Closes

Two appointments support research in X-ray astrophysics and detector technology with Eric Miller and Catherine Grant. Work may analyze XRISM observations of galaxy-cluster gas velocities, characterize imaging detectors and electronics, design testbeds, or improve background reduction and signal characterization. Researchers can develop independent projects and use Magellan, Chandra observing time and high-performance computing. Appointments last two years, with a possible third year, and may begin in spring 2027. The stated salary range is $73,300–$90,000.
