Supports fundamental physics through atomic, molecular and optical science; nuclear and particle physics; gravitation; plasma physics; living systems; quantum information; instrumentation and related programmes. Proposals are accepted at any time, with programme-specific target dates for review. Funding levels and duration vary; the solicitation does not promise a fixed individual award. Investigators should contact the relevant programme about overlapping proposals or existing Physics awards.

The Jansky Fellowship supports independent early-career research connected to NRAO facilities, including radio and multiwavelength science, theory, computation and instrumentation. Appointments last two to three years at NRAO/GBO sites; justified split or non-resident appointments at eligible US universities may be considered. Applications close on 28 October 2026 at 23:59 EDT; reference letters are due on 11 November. The nominal start is September 2027, with flexibility no later than January 2028.
