Topic: population health

Five CREATE doctoral fellowships support practising health professionals developing clinical academic careers in global health. The Wellcome-funded programme links five UK universities with six partner institutions in Ghana, Pakistan, South Africa, The Gambia, Uganda and Zimbabwe. Research may span biological mechanisms, methods and technologies, or population health and its social, ethical, cultural and economic contexts, addressing health problems relevant to the overseas host region. Fellows register at a UK partner university and spend at least eighteen months at an Africa or Asia partner

Funding for research addressing cardiovascular conditions affecting women and girls, including stroke. Eligible approaches span biomedical mechanisms, clinical investigation, health services, population health and data science. Awards begin from July 2027 and support three-year projects.
