The programme combines plenary lectures by experts from Germany and abroad, specialised sessions, workshops, panel discussions and poster presentations. In his welcoming address, conference chair Christian Hübner (Institute of Human Genetics Jena) points to advances in genome sequencing, single-cell analysis and bioinformatic interpretation of large datasets that are transforming the understanding of genetic disease; new diagnostic approaches, personalised therapies and gene and cell therapies; the integration of genetic insights into clinical care; artificial intelligence for variant interpretation; and the challenges of using genomic data, together with the ethical, societal and health-policy questions of responsible use of genetic information, data protection and equitable access to innovative therapies. The four highest-rated abstracts are selected as oral presentations, competing for the GfH Presentation Prize, and the next 54 are presented in workshops W1 to W9; three poster prizes recognise early-career scientists. The conference language is English, with continuing-education lectures in German. The meeting takes place from 10 to 12 March 2027 at Friedrich Schiller University Jena; abstracts are due by 22 November 2026, 23:59 CET.
