About
Rolling funding for researchers already qualified for a professorship who are preparing for a senior academic appointment. The programme supports all disciplines through a position, professorship, clinical substitute position or fellowship.
Eligibility
Career stage: Early independent researcher · Mid-career researcher
Apply with a supervisor or host
Covers: Up to five years, initially three plus two following evaluation. Funding depends on the selected option; the fellowship option provides EUR 4,450 monthly plus applicable allowances.
Host location: Germany
Germany-based appointments; the fellowship option also permits international research stays. Conditions vary by funding option.
Nationality or residence: Qualified researchers from abroad may apply to pursue a career in Germany.

Habilitation or equivalent professorial qualification and an outstanding research record. German tenure-track professors, permanent W2/W3-equivalent postholders and researchers abroad already holding full professorships are ineligible.
