Jane Coffin Childs Postdoctoral Fellowship — 2027 competition

Three-year fellowship for fundamental biomedical research into causes, treatments and cures of human disease. Stipends are USD 72,000, 74,000 and 76,000 in successive years, plus USD 2,000 annual research costs and USD 1,800 annual scientific-meeting travel. Dependent-child supplements are available. No institutional indirect costs are paid. Complete applications, references and host forms are due 1 February 2027 at 3 pm Eastern time; fellowship starts 1 July 2027.

At the deadline, no more than 12 months of postdoctoral research and PhD no more than 24 months earlier; MD no more than three years earlier, with separate dual-degree exceptions. PhD candidates may apply if degree and host start requirements are met by July 2027. Confirmed sponsoring lab and institution required; the PhD laboratory cannot host the fellowship. Any nationality; non-US citizens must use US hosts, while US citizens may use foreign hosts.
