Stipends are USD 72,000, 74,000 and 76,000 in successive years, plus USD 2,000 annual research costs and USD 1,800 annual scientific-meeting travel. Dependent-child supplements are available. No institutional indirect costs are paid. Complete applications, references and host forms are due 1 February 2027 at 3 pm Eastern time; fellowship starts 1 July 2027.

Investigate mechanisms underlying human disease through an experimental intervention or challenge in humans. Stage-one proposals must test a mechanistic hypothesis; new investigators may apply with the required institutional support.
