Postdoctoral Scholar Employee (2 years) position
Postdoc - Stem Cell Disease Modeling and Precision Medicine - Innovative Genomics Institute
University of California, Berkeley
About
The Advanced Translational Genetics (ATG) Lab at the Innovative Genomics Institute, UC Berkeley, studies the genetic and molecular basis of human disease with high-throughput pluripotent stem cell models, combining precise genome editing, automated cell engineering and multiplexed CRISPR screening with single-cell multi-omics and AI modelling to build cell-type-specific disease models for therapeutic discovery in oncology, neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic disease.
The postdoc will engineer, differentiate and functionally characterise human iPSCs, design and run CRISPR screening campaigns from library design and cloning to lentiviral production, validate disease models with sequencing, imaging and biochemical assays, and build computational pipelines using pathway analysis and AI modelling to identify therapeutic targets. The estimated salary is $69,073-$77,030.
Requirements
PhD or enrolment in a PhD programme at application; PhD by the start date and no more than three years of post-degree research experience. Preferred: PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, genomics or a related field, with expertise in multi-omics, CRISPR screens, iPSC disease modelling, genome engineering or AI-based omics or imaging analysis.
