Eligibility
Career stage: Master’s · PhD
Apply with a supervisor or host
Covers: EUR 1,850 monthly for three years, up to EUR 1,000 yearly eligible expenses, plus qualifying child, relocation and temporary research-abroad allowances. Later applications can shorten the term.
Host location: Germany
Chemistry-oriented doctoral research at a university or non-university research institution, not an industrial enterprise. EU applicants must work in Germany.
Nationality or residence: Normally German nationals or EU nationals working in Germany; other nationalities can apply if they studied and completed their degree in Germany.

Excellent qualifying degree completed within the standard study period, subject to approved exceptions. Apply within four months of starting the doctorate for the full term; applications after six months are ineligible. Only one application per supervisor per round. Nationality and German-study conditions apply.
