About

This two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Yuri Schwartz’s molecular epigenetics laboratory investigates MLL1-driven leukaemia. The project examines how MLL1 fusions affect epigenetic repression and alternative gene-expression programmes, and whether methyltransferase activity and particular substrates are essential to oncogenic transformation. The laboratory combines Drosophila and human-cell models with genetics, genomics and numerical simulation to study Polycomb and Trithorax regulation. The proposed start is 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

Eligibility

Covers: Full-time postdoctoral scholarship for two years. Amount not specified.

Research is hosted at Umeå University, Sweden.

A relevant doctorate is required by the scholarship decision. Priority is given to applicants within three years of the doctorate; stated special circumstances can permit an earlier degree. A doctorate in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or a related field, molecular cloning and mammalian cell-culture experience, and strong English communication are required. Research is hosted at Umeå University, Sweden.
