This specialist meeting examines atmospheric rivers, their impacts on weather and climate, and their connections to water resources and environmental systems. The conference takes place in Porto on 19–23 October 2026. Registration remains open until 10 October 2026; abstract submission has closed.

Researchers are improving estimates of how meltwater partitions between refreezing and runoff at high elevations of the Greenland Ice Sheet. They are also investigating how surface meltwater affects ice sliding where the ice exceeds one kilometre in thickness, reducing key uncertainties in projections of sea-level rise.
