Postdoctoral Researcher: Experimental Fracture Mechanics of Soft Materials

Physics, Fracture Mechanics and Solid Mechanics postdoctoral researcher position at ETH Zurich

Deadline not stated
Zurich, Switzerland

About

The Solid Mechanics professorship seeks an experimental postdoctoral researcher to investigate how soft and architected materials deform and fracture. The role develops quantitative experiments using confocal or high-speed imaging, digital image correlation and particle tracking to measure crack-tip behaviour, strain, fracture energy and rate effects. Further work concerns contact and friction, with collaboration across modelling and theory and supervision of junior researchers.

The start date is flexible, preferably soon. Apply online with a CV, publications, research-interest statement and two referees. No closing date is advertised.
