About

Fully funded 36-month PhD contract at the Institut des Neurosciences Cellulaires et Intégratives (INCI) in Strasbourg, supported by a 2025 ANR grant. The thesis investigates the mechanisms, dynamics and behavioural impact of neuromodulation in the olfactory cortex, focusing on cholinergic and GABAergic projections from the basal forebrain. The project mainly uses fibre photometry recordings and optogenetic stimulation in mice performing olfactory behavioural tasks, and is co-supervised by Y.

Sych and D. Desaintjan. The student joins the Mesoscale networks, neuromodulation and behaviour team, working closely with the Neural network physiology team, alongside scientists spanning cellular and molecular neurobiology, network physiology and computational neuroscience. Start date 4 January 2027; minimum monthly salary €2,300.
