About
NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena is recruiting a postdoctoral scholar to advance the deployment and capabilities of state-of-the-art AI on edge devices. The scholar will research edge vision-language models and foundation models, deploy complex foundation models to embedded platforms such as Nvidia NX and AGX, fine-tune them with LoRA and supervised fine-tuning, develop and integrate vision heads for segmentation, object recognition (e.g., YOLO) and open-vocabulary detection, and design evaluation and benchmark pipelines including LLM-driven evaluation.
Research is carried out with a JPL advisor and published in the open literature. The typical full-time annual hiring range is $83,820.
Requirements
PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence, computer vision, robotics or a closely related field; research expertise in vision-language models, foundation models or embedded AI; experience deploying models to embedded platforms, fine-tuning (LoRA, SFT) and multiple vision heads; experience with LLM-driven evaluation pipelines; peer-reviewed publication record. CV, representative publications, three references and a cover letter.
