Postdoctoral Researcher - Applied Mathematics and Computational Physics
Applied Mathematics, Materials Physics and postdoctoral position at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
About
Develop theoretical and computational approaches to X-ray interactions with quantum and nanostructured materials at the Molecular Foundry. The researcher translates electronic-structure, magnetism, light–matter and structured-field theories into numerical tools that interpret experiments, collaborating closely with experimental teams and benchmarking methods. The appointment lasts two years, with an annual salary range of USD 84,336–94,020. The priority-review date is October 26, 2026.
Requirements
Relevant theoretical-physics or applied-mathematics PhD; quantum/light–matter modelling, translating theory into simulation, and scientific programming using Fortran or C/C++, Python and Linux. Fewer than three years of paid postdoctoral experience.
