R&D Staff Member in Manufacturing Robotics and Controls

Develop research in manufacturing robotics, industrial automation and controls within ORNL's Manufacturing Robotics and Controls Group. Work includes advanced sensing and control algorithms, flexible automation, machine learning, machine vision and collaboration with industrial partners. The scientist will develop proposals, communicate research results and grow toward research leadership. The position is located in Knoxville, Tennessee.

PhD in engineering, computer science or a related field and at least two years of relevant experience. Expertise in dynamics, controls, automation or robotics and advanced sensing algorithms. Visa sponsorship is unavailable. Candidates must qualify for export-controlled technology access without an export licence and meet the laboratory's federal access requirements.
