Research Fellow - Synthetic Organic Chemistry
Organic Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry and Catalysis full-time / fixed term / three years position at University of Southampton
Apply by Monday, Oct 26 at 23:59 UTC
About
Join Jonathan George’s group on a Leverhulme-funded, three-year project investigating biomimetic synthesis of complex natural products, particularly meroterpenoids. The work develops cascade reactions using dearomatisation, rearrangement and cycloaddition, linking total synthesis to reaction discovery and mechanistic analysis. It includes synthesis, purification, structural characterisation and collaboration with computational chemists and researchers in biosynthesis and natural products.
The annual salary is GBP 37,369–45,641. Applicants can develop conference, publication, mentoring and laboratory-management experience. Applications close at 23:59 UK time on 26 October 2026; references are requested at shortlisting.
