About
The Pittsburgh Particle physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology Center (PITT PACC) in the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a Samuel P. Langley postdoctoral research fellowship in stellar astrophysics or galaxy evolution, with particular encouragement for candidates working on stellar evolution, stellar populations, supernovae and supernova remnants. Pitt is an associate member of SDSS-V and After Sloan 5.
The fellowship begins in autumn 2027 for an initial two years, with an expected third year subject to performance, and provides salary and research funds. Langley Fellows conduct independent research and can organise PITT PACC activities, including hosting visitors and running their own workshops or conferences. Review of applications begins on 12 January 2027; applications received later may still be considered.
