Tenure-Track Faculty in Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering

Tenure-track recruitment in solid mechanics within Harvard’s Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering programme. The role combines research with undergraduate and graduate teaching, training and advising. The expected start is 1 July 2027. Review begins on 15 November 2026 and continues until filled. SEAS materials and mechanical engineering faculty work across Cambridge and Allston; the advert does not assign this appointment to a specific building.

Doctorate in engineering, physics, chemistry or a related field by the start date, a strong research record and commitment to teaching and mentoring. Submit a cover letter, CV, teaching/advising, research and service statements, and three to five referee contacts through ARIeS. At least three letters are required, including one from someone who has not been the applicant’s undergraduate, graduate or postdoctoral adviser.
