Abstract

This discussion examines how medical AI might move from identifying abnormalities toward earlier prediction, prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Hutan Ashrafian and Ahmad Guni outline six functional domains of medical AI and a spectrum of independence, from advisory support to more autonomous navigation. The panel connects AI-driven molecular biology and multimodal clinical tools with the technical and health-system changes needed to translate capability into patient benefit. It also examines responsible, sustainable and equitable adoption, including appropriate human oversight, followed by discussion and audience questions.
