Complémentarité des modèles de recherche en neurosciences
Neuroscience workshop
Tuesday
About
The emergence of organoids, simulations and AI-based approaches raises practical questions about how neuroscience should combine human studies with animal models. This workshop examines why animal models remain necessary for some medical questions and how complementary experimental systems can support stronger conclusions. Case studies connect brain organoids and zebrafish in rare genetic disease, rodent and human neuromodulatory systems, translation from rat experiments to clinical research, and human versus non-human primate contributions to understanding decisions and movement. A concluding roundtable compares the uses and limits of these approaches.
The French-language programme runs on 17 November 2026, beginning at 09:30 CET (Europe/Paris). Expert presentations start at 10:30, the roundtable at 12:45 and a buffet at 13:30. The workshop counts toward continuing training in animal experimentation. Registration uses a Sciencesconf or HAL account. Attendees must present identification and their registration certificate at the hospital's pedestrian entrance.
