Workshop II: Contact Geometry, Cluster Algebras and Skein Theory
Mathematics workshop by Angela Wu, Daniel Douglas, Ian Le and 3 more
Starts in 15 days
About
This workshop develops connections among contact and symplectic geometry, cluster algebras and skein theory. It examines how Legendrian submanifolds and their Lagrangian fillings relate to cluster algebras through Floer theory and microlocal sheaves, including augmentation varieties and quantum Teichmüller theory. A second strand connects skein theory with symplectic field theory and string topology. Bringing together these communities with researchers in quantum topology and representation theory, the meeting will explore consequences for knot and manifold invariants and questions of positivity. A poster session accompanies the talks.
The programme runs 26–29 October 2026 in Pacific Daylight Time (America/Los_Angeles, UTC−7). Check-in starts at 08:00 daily; opening remarks are at 08:55 on 26 October, followed by talks at 09:00. Talks start at 09:00 on subsequent days and finish at 16:50; the first-day poster session runs 17:15–18:30.
In-person registration fees are US$25 for graduate students, $50 for postdocs, $75 for faculty or government participants, and $100 for industry. Registration may close when capacity is reached. Financial-support applications have closed.
