17th Göttingen Meeting of the German Neuroscience Society

Plenary lectures address brain circuits for flexible locomotion (Founders' Lecture, Abdel El Manira), the neuroscience of brain cancer (Translational Neuroscience Lecture of the Gertrud Reemtsma Foundation, Michelle Monje), organellar acidification and genome stability in the ageing brain (Armin Schram Lecture, Ira Milosevic), a burst-coded solution of the credit assignment problem (Hertie Foundation Lecture, Richard Naud) and cortical plasticity in chronic pain and pain relief (Norbert Elsner Lecture, Rohini Kuner). New this year are a Reemtsma Symposium on neuroscience and cancer and a special interest symposium on animal research in neuroscience organised with Tierversuche verstehen. Symposium topics include breathing as a brain function, oxytocin signalling in glial cells, hippocampal circuits and state-dependent network dynamics, synaptic signalling and neuromodulation, and pesticide neurotoxicity across species. A satellite Schram Foundation Symposium on cellular identity and circuit regulation runs on 16 March 2027 at the MPINAT City-Campus. The scientific programme starts on 17 March 2027 at 09:00 and closes on 19 March 2027 after the last plenary lecture at 16:45.
