ACS PRF Doctoral New Investigator Grants — Fall 2026 Round
Description
The Petroleum Research Fund offers USD 110,000 over two years for fundamental research relevant to the petroleum field by new investigators. At least 60% of the budget supports student education and training. The current submission round closes at 5 pm US Eastern time on 9 October 2026 for consideration in May 2027; the next spring window is separate. Applied research is outside this programme’s scope.
Eligibility
Regularly appointed faculty at US academic institutions, within three years of their first assistant-professor or equivalent appointment, normally able to supervise graduate students. Formally documented tenure-clock extensions may extend eligibility. The project must be independent of prior graduate or postdoctoral research.
