Supports established institutes and research centers in mathematics and the physical sciences to strengthen contacts within the international scientific community; up to $750,000 (inclusive of 20% indirect costs) over a three-year award period, with up to ten grants each year.
EPSRC standard research grant, Nov 2023: responsive mode
EPSRC's responsive-mode standard research grant, 'Open - no closing date': applications are accepted continuously and batched internally for assessment. No specified upper limit on grant value or project length; EPSRC funds 80% of the full economic cost.
Targeted Grants in MPS
Supports high-risk projects of exceptional promise and scientific importance in mathematics and the physical sciences, with funding for up to five years; letters of intent are accepted on a rolling basis and there is no recommended or assumed funding level.
EPSRC New Investigator Award: applicant-led mode
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council supports early-career researchers making their first application as project lead to develop an independent research vision and establish a research group. Applications can address any EPSRC-remit field, including artificial intelligence, healthcare technologies, engineering, mathematical sciences, physical sciences, clean energy, security, and quantum technologies.
