About

Institut Mittag-Leffler, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences' institute for research and postdoctoral training in the mathematical sciences, invites applications for junior fellowships in its spring 2028 research programme "Subelliptic and Magnetic Operators and Their Interactions" (9 February - 19 May 2028) in Djursholm, Stockholm. The programme brings together researchers on subelliptic operators - non-elliptic differential operators, often sums of squares of vector fields satisfying the Hörmander condition, that still gain regularity - and on magnetic Schrödinger and Dirac operators, whose commutators encode the magnetic field. It draws on geometry, harmonic analysis and spectral theory, with applications such as superconductivity, graphene and tunnelling. Fellows take part in the full 3.5-month programme.
