About

One or two postdoctoral scholarships for experimental immunologists in the Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy Group led by Dhifaf Sarhan, Division of Pathology, Department of Laboratory Medicine, Karolinska Institutet. The group studies how interactions between innate and adaptive immune cells, together with sex differences, shape the organisation and function of the tumour microenvironment, why immune cells control tumours in some settings but are excluded or suppressed in others, and how these processes can be redirected therapeutically. The scholar will lead a mechanistic project on immune-tumour-stromal interactions, turning findings from patient material, single-cell and spatial analyses into testable hypotheses and testing them with functional assays and genetic or pharmacological perturbation in mouse tumour models and human culture systems, in close collaboration with Karolinska University Hospital (reference STÖD 2-4422/2026).
