Job Description
The Jansky Fellowship supports independent early-career research connected to NRAO facilities, including radio and multiwavelength science, theory, computation and instrumentation. Appointments last two to three years at NRAO/GBO sites; justified split or non-resident appointments at eligible US universities may be considered. Applications close on 28 October 2026 at 23:59 EDT; reference letters are due on 11 November. The nominal start is September 2027, with flexibility no later than January 2028.
Requirements
- PhD in astronomy
- astrophysics
- physics
- computer science or a related field. Normally no more than five years of postdoctoral experience at the start
- justified exceptions are considered. Any nationality
- US work eligibility is required. NRAO does not sponsor H-1B visas for this position
- eligible J-1 sponsorship may be available.
