About
Two appointments support research in X-ray astrophysics and detector technology with Eric Miller and Catherine Grant. Work may analyze XRISM observations of galaxy-cluster gas velocities, characterize imaging detectors and electronics, design testbeds, or improve background reduction and signal characterization. Researchers can develop independent projects and use Magellan, Chandra observing time and high-performance computing. Appointments last two years, with a possible third year, and may begin in spring 2027. The stated salary range is $73,300–$90,000.
Requirements
PhD in astronomy, astrophysics or a related field by autumn 2027. Observational X-ray astronomy or instrumentation experience is desirable. Submit cover letter, CV, research statement and three reference letters via Academic Jobs Online.
