About
Three-year PhD research fellowship in civil and structural engineering at the Department of Engineering Sciences, University of Agder, Campus Grimstad, associated with the EU project HelioSea, which develops interconnected floating solar arrays for offshore sites, assesses concepts under various environmental conditions, investigates systems integration and co-location with other marine renewable energy devices, and performs techno-economic analysis.
The fellow will research design and analysis of multibody floating solar systems, typically lightweight floats with mechanical connectors and mooring, under offshore conditions, using analytical modelling and numerical analysis of multibody hydrodynamics and possibly structural analysis. Salary NOK 550,800 gross (code 1017).
Requirements
Master's degree in marine technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering or a closely related field, with the thesis approved by the deadline; in-depth knowledge of subjects such as marine hydrodynamics and structural analysis.
