Join Tobias Bollenbach’s group in the CRC 1310 programme on predictability in evolution. Study antibiotic-resistance evolution using E. coli laboratory strains and clinical isolates interacting with host immune cells, particularly macrophages. Combine genome barcoding, sequencing and molecular analysis with theoretical collaborators to understand immune pressure and resistance. The position is available immediately at 65% time, or 25.89 hours weekly, until 31 December 2029. Salary follows TV-L E13 when qualification conditions are met. Apply by 26 October 2026.
Requirements
Strong MSc in evolutionary biology, biotechnology, microbiology, biological physics or a related field, motivation for interdisciplinary research and good communication.
