About

Eurac Research's Institute for Biomedicine at NOI Techpark in Bolzano works on precision prevention, investigating genetic, biological, environmental and lifestyle factors that predict, slow or prevent disease, and runs the CHRIS population study with the South Tyrolean Healthcare Service. Within HEALTH3P, a joint initiative with Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (Markus Ralser and Britta Siegmund), the institute investigates molecular markers of cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic health in the population.

The postdoctoral researcher will preprocess and analyse a large high-throughput mass-spectrometry proteomics dataset, carry out exploratory analysis and normalization, and apply statistical modelling and machine learning to identify protein markers of health states and trajectories and to build predictive models of health outcomes, in close collaboration with senior researchers in Bolzano and Berlin. The full-time position lasts up to three years with a gross annual salary of 44,914.14 to 47,272.98 euros.

Requirements

PhD in bioinformatics, biostatistics or computational biology, typically with zero to three years of postdoctoral experience; experience analysing, quality-assessing and normalizing quantitative omics data, preferably mass-spectrometry proteomics; extensive R and/or Python data analysis; reproducible research; statistical modelling, multiple regression and machine learning; excellent written and spoken English.
