About

The Corey Lab at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, in a team led by Dr. Sholukh, studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms of local control of herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2) in genital tissue. Projects include discovery, characterisation and translational development of human monoclonal antibodies; computational and structural collaboration to engineer antibodies with enhanced function; development and validation of serodiagnostic assays; and research on how antibodies secreted by tissue-resident plasma cells contain herpesviruses.

The fellow uses antibody discovery and engineering, functional and binding assays, epitope mapping, passive immunisation in animal models and tissue organoids to understand in-tissue HSV control and develop diagnostic and immunotherapeutic approaches for persistent viral infection, toward herpes vaccine and immunotherapy development. The annual base salary range is $80,172-$95,014.

Requirements

MD and/or PhD in biology, immunology, biochemistry, virology or a related discipline; a productive research record; excellent written and verbal communication. Preferred: antibody discovery and engineering (including computational approaches), assay development, animal or organoid models; B-cell biology, single-cell RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, immune-repertoire phylogenetics in R/Python, machine learning.
