About
Two-year postdoctoral position in Maude Guillier’s group, Control of gene expression by RNAs, within the Microbial Gene Expression unit (UMR8261) of the Institut de Biologie Physico-Chimique in central Paris. The project concerns the control of gene expression and the regulatory networks that bacteria use to adapt to their environment. The postdoc will study transcriptional and post-transcriptional control of gene expression in the model bacterium Escherichia coli, particularly by two-component systems and small regulatory RNAs, combining detailed analyses of the regulation of model genes with broader genetic approaches to identify important regulations in response to different environments.
The group currently has four permanent and four fixed-term members; work with radioactivity is possible. Start date 1 February 2027; gross monthly salary €2,700–3,900 depending on experience.
Requirements
PhD in biology with at least one year of post-PhD experience; solid expertise in bacteriology, molecular biology and RNA biochemistry; good written and spoken English.
