About
Twelve-month postdoctoral position at the Laboratoire de Mathématiques de Bretagne Atlantique (LMBA, UMR 6205) in Brest, within the ANR project OCSYC (Oxygen-Controlled Self-assembly of Cells) coordinated by Vincent Calvez, in collaboration with biophysicists and mathematicians in Lyon (ILM, UMR 5306, and ICJ, UMR 5208). The postdoc will contribute to the modelling, analysis and numerical analysis of collective cell dynamics under low oxygen. The group has developed mixed PDE/ODE models since a collaboration begun in 2019: reaction–diffusion equations coupled with ordinary differential equations describing compact cell aggregates.
The work will extend these models to understand the collective dynamics of aggregates, phase-transition phenomena and their long-time behaviour, alongside participation in relevant working groups and seminars. Start date 1 January 2027; gross monthly salary €3,070–4,440.
Requirements
PhD in mathematics with a focus on partial differential equations and/or stochastic processes (theoretical, numerical or both); ability to interact with biologists or biophysicists is an asset.
