About
NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory is recruiting a postdoc in quantum gases, matter-wave interferometry and cold-atom technologies, supporting advanced quantum sensing and atom-interferometry systems, including work associated with the Cold Atom Lab (CAL) instrument and optical dipole trap (ODT) technologies. The research spans ultracold quantum gases, Bose-Einstein condensates, atom interferometry and precision quantum measurement for future space-based quantum science missions: experimental development of optical, vacuum and control systems, support for engineering-model and ground testbeds, laser optical systems for CAL technology maturation, modelling and analysis of ground and on-orbit data, and theory of cavity atom interferometry and quantum sensing in microgravity.
The typical full-time annual hiring range is $83,820.
Requirements
PhD in physics, applied physics, quantum science, atomic physics or a related field; experimental experience with ultracold atoms, Bose-Einstein condensates or atom interferometry; experience with vacuum, laser, optical and control systems; strong background in quantum optics, atomic physics or precision measurement; peer-reviewed publications.
