Postdoctoral Researcher positions in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Jyväskylä seeks 2–3 postdoctoral researchers in mathematics for fixed terms of 1–3 years, starting mainly in autumn 2027, or in spring 2027, or as agreed. The positions involve research related to one or more of the department's research groups in inverse problems, and strong preference goes to candidates whose research interests overlap with or complement the department's main research areas.

The postdoctoral researchers focus on research and take on a rather small amount of teaching. The salary is set at demand levels 5–6 of the Finnish universities' salary system, approximately €3,700–5,000 per month (gross) depending on qualifications and experience, with a six-month trial period. Applications are due by 30 November 2026.

A recently completed doctoral degree, or one about to be completed; the PhD must be completed before the contract starts. Duties, qualifications and language skills follow the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines.
