University Assistant postdoctoral: cognitive neuroscience of language and spatial cognition

Postdoctoral position in Prof. Narly Golestani's research group at the University of Vienna's Department of Behavioral and Cognitive Biology. The group works on the cognitive neuroscience of language, multilingualism and spatial cognition, including entorhinal grid-like coding and cognitive maps. The postholder builds an independent research profile through research projects, international publications and presentations, and also supervises students, teaches and contributes to department administration.

Advanced analysis of functional and structural MRI data is central to the role. The full-time contract is fixed-term to 30 June 2029, with a basic gross salary of EUR 5,014.30 paid 14 times a year.

Completed PhD in biology with a dissertation on brain function and structure (ideally multilingualism and memory); background in biomedical engineering; experience in advanced analysis of functional and structural brain data; coding skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB, R, Linux/Bash); very good English and German skills.
