Computational Pangenomics
Computational Genomics, Bio-Informatics and workshop
About
This practical course builds and analyses pangenome graphs from complete genome assemblies to reduce single-reference bias and study genomic variation. Participants use PGGB and ODGI, compare reference-guided and reference-free partitioning, explore haplotype deconvolution with COSIGT, and work with implicit graphs through IMPG. Examples span human, primate and yeast data, with discussion of genotyping and collaborative pangenome projects. A biology and bioinformatics background, Linux shell competence and familiarity with FASTA, VCF and BED formats are required. Teaching runs 16:00–20:00 Berlin time on the first three days and 16:00–19:00 on the fourth. The listed fee is €420.
